What makes Creative Advertising?

People! Of course. Artificial Intelligence, more aptly named Limited/Large Language Models, cannot by my definition create original or creative advertisements. They can however copy existing creative works into novel or unique alagomations. To truly be a special creative marketing piece I believe that it has to originate from a person. Ai has its functions, but humans are genuine in ways that cannot be mimicked.

That said there is no guarantee that human derived copy is creative or original. Copying popular trends is catchy, fun, and effective, but without some unique spin to it I would hardly call it creative, and it is certainly far from original. Starting a trend is no small feat, if you can pull that off I should be reading your blog instead.

For those here asking how to be creative, think up something you would like to see. Like an ai your memories are an amalgamation of all the advertisements you’ve ever seen. Unlike an algorithm though your thoughts are uniquely yours! Use your taste, what you know about the brand you’re marketing, how you picture your audience’s reactions. These distinguishers and more can inspire you in effective ways to make a successful ad, but the creativity comes from your spirit! If your idea makes you laugh or feel an emotion it surely will inspire others in the same way. Don’t be afraid to be weird, just make sure to stay consistent.

A creative ad comes from the heart, it still needs polishing and refinement. Take your favorite idea and run with it! If it doesn’t land you can figure out why and try again. Creative development is an iterative process, nurture the concept of your idea and watch how it grows! The best ideas can come in a flash, or they can take a long time to come together. Either way it takes consistent effort to make your ideas a reality, make sure you keep having fun with it and you’ll always be creative.
